[PDSL] Fall 2012 Playoff Information

To make sure you receive notice of updates and other breaking news, sign up for our email list or keep checking the playoff page on our main website.

Please read below the preliminary details of this season's playoff configuration, a flyer with additional details is also attached.  Bracket reps, please consider printing this information out and distributing to your players.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• To be eligible for the playoffs, you must have completed and filed reports for all regular season matches by the January 5, 2013 deadline.

• Players will be seeded based on PPR.

• Players must CHECK IN onsite when they arrive at the playoff venue or will risk being considered absent and not included in the draw.
  

• Players may opt to play in the division level above their PPR, but must inform the league at time of onsite check in.

Doors open at 11am. All divisions start play at 12:00pm
Players MUST CHECK IN at the desk when they arrive the venue or risk being considered absent and not included in the draw.

Championship Prize Funds:

A Division:
1st: $460, 2nd: $225,
3-4: $110, 5-8: $60;

B Division:
1st: $225, 2nd: $110,
3-4: $60; 5-8 $30

Total Playoff Award Purse: $1720

All awards will be paid by check and mailed to the winners after the tournament.  IRS form W-9 will be required to be submitted by any player who earns $600 or more during the calendar year.  Each player will receive an IRS form 1099 from the company and the company will file the required IRS form 1096.

[PDSL] End of Season Update

 PDSL LEAGUE COMMUNICATIONS 

Dear PDSL Member:
 
PLEASE NOTE: It is imperative that bracket reps and players share the following information in their bracket and help those without email or computer access to stay informed.

We also encourage you to follow Doublecork on our Facebook Page and Twitter for the most timely updates.

As we reach the conclusion of the Fall 2012 season, the PDSL would like to thank all of our members for your continued support and participation.  Below you will find helpful reminders and information about the upcoming playoff tournament to decide a league champion.

Here are some important reminders and updates as the regular season winds down:

• All matches must be completed and reports filed.  Players with incomplete seasons will not be eligible for the playoffs.
• Two-week extra makeup period runs from 12/17/12 to 01/05/13, and January 5th is the last day match reports will be accepted.
• RSVPs are no longer required for the playoffs.  Please make sure you check in at the desk once you arrive at the tournament.
• The draw for the playoff tournament will be done live onsite prior to start.

FALL 2012 PDSL PLAYOFFS WILL BE February 2, 2013 at Crown East Billiards in East Haven, CT

• Fall 2012 PDSL Playoffs will be held February 2, 2013 at Crown East Billiards in East Haven, CT.  All areas and divisions will play on the same day at the same location.
  
• A detailed playoff flyer and additional information will be sent out soon.

Information about signing up for the Spring 2013 season will also be made available soon.

[PDSL] Have you looked at your Player Stats & Graphs?

Dear PDSL Member:

We hope you are enjoying the Spring 2012 season of professional, long format darts. Below you will find helpful information on how to get the best PDSL experience, and how to use various features available to you on the league member's website.

We also encourage you to follow Doublecork on our Facebook Page and Twitter - we send out numerous updates during the season via these channels.

*** PDSL MEMBER'S WEBSITE -  NEW PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED to open an account on the website to gain full access to league data and their personal statistics.  To open a new account, CLICK HERE

There are some features on your "My Stats" pages that you may be unaware of, they are described below.  To access player progress charts, you must be logged into your account on the league website, then on your "My Stats" page (see link on left side menu) you will find a links to stats and other info across the top of the page including one labeled 'Graphs".

Notes about Graphs:

1: A trend line has been added to the PPR chart which is a moving average over five matches that displays how the player PPR is trending.  The trend line will only be displayed if the player has played six or more matches
 
2, Chart - "Points per Round per Leg Played": This graph correlates the number of legs thrown to the match PPR across the last forty matches. The number of matches played with each leg count and the specific average PPR for those matches can be viewed by hovering your mouse pointer over the respective bar. 

How to read this chart: Each individual bar will display a stat line such as "X legs, Y matches, Z ppr" which indicates how many matches in your last 40 lasted that many legs and with what ppr.  This may help you notice your differences in performance over longer match lengths vs shorter matches.

We hope all brackets, those new and those returning, are geared up for the start of the new Fall season of professional long-format 501!  Big welcome to our new brackets in CA, PA and NJ!

Once again, the new season begins next week. 

Bracket Kits have been shipped and should be in the hands of all bracket reps soon.  In the event that you do not receive these materials, see below for links to how you can download digital copies of the following bracket documents (click the name of the document to download or to visit the PDSL Member's site, bottom right corner under "downloads"):

• Bracket Scheduler - Since there is no travel and matches are played in a single location, PDSL employs a flexible "do it yourself" scheduling system. Bracket reps will use this form to assign schedule positions to their players and should then distribute this schedule among their bracket.
• Bracket Operations Sheet - Basic instructions for managing your PDSL Bracket.
• Online Match Report Instructions - illustrated guide on how to enter completed match reports.
• Blank Match Reports - can be used for all matches, including makeups.

UPDATE: PDSL PLAYER SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM *

The Fall 2012 championship playoff finalists from the highest division will EACH earn a $500 Sponsorship Package to be used at an upcoming long-format pro tournament, such as PDC, New World Dart Series or Major League Darts events.  Exact event(s) will be determined when the 2013 tournament schedule is available and is subject to league approval.

* This sponsorship package will be activated only if there is a player pool of 200 members in the NY/NJ and New England regions combined.  Sponsored players must agree to PDSL terms of sponsorship.

PDSL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS

• 2013 Tournaments have yet to be scheduled, so we will have 2 possible dates which will be finalized when conflicts are better known. Tentative dates: 1/19 and 2/2; Location is also to be determined.
• All divisions from all regions will participate on same day for cash prizes
• Finalists from highest division will earn sponsorship if membership goal is reached.

Please remember that this Saturday, June 30, 2012 is the final day to submit match reports for makeup matches.  No match reports will be accepted after this day and players with incomplete seasons will not be allowed to participate in the league playoffs on July 14.

[PDSL] Reminder - PDSL Application Deadline Feb 18

Just one week to go.  Get your brackets together now.  PDSL APPLICATION & FEE DEADLINE: February 18, 2012

Doublecork, Inc. is pleased to invite all serious dart players to participate in our Spring 2012 season of the Pro Developmental Singles League (PDSL) which begins the week of March 4, 2012. 

> NEW Details for Spring 2012 Season:

TWO PDSL PLAYERS WILL BE SPONSORED INTO THE NEW PDC NORTH AMERICAN PRO TOUR!

The Spring 2012 championship playoff finalists from the highest division will EACH earn the following $500 Sponsorship Package:

• Entry fee ($100) and two hotel nights ($224) to the August PDC event in London, Ontario
• $100 for North American Pro Dart Players Association membership fee
• $75 cash for miscellaneous expenses

Player responsible for all other expenses. Winning player must agree to PDSL terms of sponsorship (see website).

PDSL PLAYOFFS NOW SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE
PDSL PLAYOFFS will be held JULY 14, 2012 at the British Club in Manchester, CT.
Many have requested playoff dates and locations to be published in advance of season signups. There will no longer be a regional playoff and all regions will now be invited to a single central playoff tournament to produce overall league champions.  Regions unable to travel to the central playoffs can make arrangements with the league to hold an individual regional event.  All divisions from all regions will participate on same day for $2000+ prize pool.

[PDSL] PDSL Spring 2012 Season & New North American PDC Sponsorship Program

Doublecork, Inc. is pleased to invite all serious dart players to participate in our Spring 2012 season of the Pro Developmental Singles League (PDSL) which begins the week of March 4, 2012. 

> NEW Details for Spring 2012 Season:

TWO PDSL PLAYERS WILL BE SPONSORED INTO THE NEW PDC NORTH AMERICAN PRO TOUR!

The Spring 2012 championship playoff finalists from the highest division will EACH earn the following $500 Sponsorship Package:

• Entry fee ($100) and two hotel nights ($224) to the August PDC event in London, Ontario
• $100 for North American Pro Dart Players Association membership fee
• $75 cash for miscellaneous expenses

Player responsible for all other expenses. Winning player must agree to PDSL terms of sponsorship (see website).

PDSL PLAYOFFS NOW SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE
PDSL PLAYOFFS will be held JULY 14, 2012 at the British Club in Manchester, CT.
Many have requested playoff dates and locations to be published in advance of season signups. There will no longer be a regional playoff and all regions will now be invited to a single central playoff tournament to produce overall league champions.  Regions unable to travel to the central playoffs can make arrangements with the league to hold an individual regional event.  All divisions from all regions will participate on same day for $2000+ prize pool.

[PDSL] Important Playoff Update RE: RSVPs

IMPORTANT PDSL PLAYOFF UPDATE
RSVPs will NOT be required for this season's PDSL Playoffs, despite previous announcements.

This season, players may show up unannounced and will only need to check in on the day of the regional to be seeded into the draw. 

Please check in no later than 12:45pm at the NY regional and by 11:30am at the MA/CT regional.

Players will still need to have met all eligibility requirements in order to qualify for postseason play.   If you have any questions, please contact Mark Clifford at markc@doublecork.com.
