[PDSL] Playoff Update

Much thanks to all PDSL members as we finish up the current Fall 2011 season.  Information about the Spring 2012 season will be announced soon, but please be aware that we are restructuring a few things that will result in a later start than previous years, so stay tuned.

Reminders and Updates:

• Bracket Reps must make sure that all players in their group are made aware of playoff details, eligibility and RSVP deadline.  You may download a playoff flyer from the league website and hand it to each player to make sure everyone is aware of proper procedures.
• Please remember that all match reports must be filed by the RSVP deadline, December 31, 2011.
• Unlike previous seasons the draw for this season's playoffs will not be published in advance as the draw will take place same day as the regional playoffs to eliminate byes from last minute withdrawals.
  
• Also, the venue for the Central League Championships on February 4th will take place at the British Club in Manchester, CT.

If you plan to attend, please make sure you have sent your RSVP confirmation to Mark Clifford at markc@doublecork.com . Failure to do so will result in your exclusion from this event.  Bracket reps should poll their group and make sure that RSVPs are submitted by the deadline.

PLEASE NOTE: It is imperative that players share this information in their bracket and help those without email or computer access to stay informed.

[PDSL] Fall 2011 Playoff Information

To make sure you receive notice of updates and other breaking news, sign up for our email list or keep checking the playoff page on our main website.

Please read below the preliminary details of this season's playoff configuration. Please make note of the several changes and updates over previous seasons. A flyer with additional details is attached.  Bracket reps, please consider printing this information out and distributing to your players.

RSVP DEADLINE: DECEMBER 31, 2011

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• To be eligible for the playoffs, you must have completed and filed reports for all regular season matches by the end of the end-of-season makeup period.

• Once you are eligible, you will then need to RSVP and confirm your ability to attend your regional playoff. Only RSVP if you are certain you can attend, last minute drop outs will cause BYES in the playoff bracket. RSVPs are done via email to Mark Clifford: markc@doublecork.com

• Players will be seeded based on PPR and a bracket with matchups published online prior to the playoffs.

• Players may opt to play in the division level above their PPR, but must inform the league of this request at time of RSVP.

New details for this season:

• ALL regions will play on the same date: January 21, 2012

• Region 1: NY Region 2: MA & CT (see locations/dates below)

• Top 8 Regional Winners advance to Central League Championship on February 4, 2012 to compete for top prize funds (see below)
  

• C Division will compete only in the regional events and regional C champions will receive a trophy. There will be no central playoff event for C Division. C division players who want to try and qualify for the central playoffs are advised to play up in the B division event.

TBA - British Club in CT or Sportsmen's Lounge in Millis, MA

Start Times:
Doors open at 11am. All divisions start play at 12:00pm

Championship Prize Funds:

A Division:
1st: $460, 2nd: $225,
3-4: $110, 5-8: $60;

B Division:
1st: $225, 2nd: $110,
3-4: $60; 5-8 $30

Total Playoff Award Purse: $1720

All awards will be paid by check and mailed to the winners after the tournament.  IRS form W-9 will be required to be submitted by any player who earns $600 or more during the calendar year.  Each player will receive an IRS form 1099 from the company and the company will file the required IRS form 1096.
